A stylized female golfer in blue striped jersey swings her club against the rolling golden hills of the French Pyrenees. Her red scarf streams behind her in the mountain breeze, while the grand hotel perches on the distant peaks.

Designed by Leonetto Cappiello for the Chemins de Fer du Midi railway in 1929, part of the campaign to promote Font-Romeu as a year-round destination beyond its established winter sports reputation. The poster promises golf from spring through autumn in terrain unique at 1800 meters altitude.

Cappiello was already the master of bold advertising design by 1929, known for his vivid figures that leap from the page. Here he applies his signature style to sport, creating one of the few golf posters in his substantial body of work.

This archival print depicts the optimism of 1920s leisure travel, when the railways opened mountain resorts to a new generation of sporting enthusiasts.
