Shipping policy

1. Where We Ship
Vintage Poster Archives currently ships to the following destinations:
- United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man)
- United States (excluding US territories and military APO/FPO addresses)
- Canada (excluding rural and remote regional postal codes where standard postal services are not available)
We do not currently ship to any other destination. If you would like us to ship to a country not listed, please email hello@vintageposterarchives.com to register interest.
2. How Our Prints Are Made and Shipped
Every poster we sell is made to order. Once your order is placed and payment clears, your print enters production at our partner facility, where it is printed on archival paper using pigment-based inks. We do not hold stock.
For UK orders, prints are produced and shipped from our partner's UK facility. For US and Canadian orders, prints are produced and shipped from the nearest available facility within our partner's network, which may include UK or US production locations depending on stock and demand.
All prints are shipped rolled in a heavy-duty cardboard tube with protective tissue, sealed at both ends.
3. Production Times
Posters are typically printed and dispatched within 1 to 4 working days of order confirmation. The majority are dispatched within 48 hours. Working days exclude weekends and UK public holidays.
You will receive a separate Dispatch Confirmation Email when your order leaves the production facility. This email forms the binding contract for your purchase, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
4. Shipping Times and Costs
The estimates below are typical transit times measured in working days, starting from the day your order is dispatched. They do not include the production window described in Section 3.
United Kingdom: 2 to 4 working days. Free standard tracked delivery on all UK orders.
United States: 10 to 15 working days. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and depend on print size and quantity.
Canada: 10 to 15 working days. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and depend on print size and quantity.
Total time from order to delivery is therefore typically 3 to 8 working days for UK orders, and 11 to 19 working days for US and Canadian orders.
During public holiday periods, sale events, and peak retail seasons (November and December in particular), production and shipping times may extend by several days. We will flag known delays on the website where possible.
5. Tracking
All UK orders are dispatched with tracked delivery. Tracking details are provided in your Dispatch Confirmation Email.
US and Canadian orders are dispatched with tracked international shipping where available. Tracking visibility may be reduced once an international parcel transfers to the local postal service in the destination country (Royal Mail to USPS, Royal Mail to Canada Post). This is normal for international post.
6. Delivery Address Requirements
Please double-check your delivery address at checkout. Once an order has been dispatched, we cannot redirect or change the destination address.
Our shipping partners cannot deliver to the following address types:
- PO Boxes (for any product shipped via courier)
- Military APO, FPO, or DPO addresses
- Freight-forwarder or parcel-locker addresses where the address line indicates such use
If you place an order to one of these address types in error, we will contact you to request a deliverable alternative. If no alternative can be provided, the order will be cancelled and refunded.
7. Address Changes Before Dispatch
If you spot an error in your delivery address, contact us at hello@vintageposterarchives.com as soon as possible with your order number and the corrected address. We can update the address only if the order has not yet entered dispatch.
If the order has already been dispatched, the address cannot be changed. The parcel will either be delivered as addressed or returned to the production facility, in which case standard returns conditions apply.
8. Lost or Delayed Parcels
We treat a parcel as potentially lost if it has not arrived within the following windows after dispatch:
United Kingdom: 5 working days after dispatch
United States or Canada: 28 working days after dispatch
If your parcel exceeds the relevant window, please email hello@vintageposterarchives.com with your order number. We will investigate with our shipping partner and, if the parcel is confirmed lost, arrange a free replacement or a full refund.
We cannot offer free replacements for parcels marked as delivered to the address you supplied, or for parcels that fail to deliver due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout.
9. Customs, Import Duties, and Local Taxes
For United Kingdom orders, prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes.
For United States and Canadian orders, your delivery may be subject to local sales taxes, import duties, or customs fees levied by your destination country. These charges, where applicable, are the responsibility of the recipient and are calculated at checkout where we are legally required to collect them.
We declare the full value of each parcel on customs documentation. We do not mark parcels as gifts or under-declare their value.
10. Damaged Parcels and Manufacturing Defects
If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, or if your print has a manufacturing defect, please refer to Section 13.2 of our Terms & Conditions for the claims procedure. The window for reporting transit damage or manufacturing defects is 30 days from delivery.
11. Returns
Returns and "change of mind" cancellation rights are governed by our Terms & Conditions, Section 6 and Section 13. In summary:
UK and EU Consumer orders: 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
US and Canadian Consumer orders: All sales are final due to the made-to-order nature of our prints.
Trade orders: Subject to the trade terms set out in Section 5 of our Terms & Conditions.
