Trieste ENIT 1930

1930

In 1930 Trieste's newest landmark was the Victory Lighthouse, completed three years earlier as a war memorial. ENIT (Ente Nazionale Italiano per il Turismo), Italy's national tourism board, commissioned this poster. Designer unknown. The Unknown Seaman statue stands at the base of the lighthouse, the Faro della Vittoria, above the Adriatic coast.

On the poster

A lone statue stands in silhouette beneath a canopy of stars against the royal blue night of Trieste. The Faro della Vittoria lighthouse rises above the Adriatic coast, and city lights show in the distance. The Art Deco lettering is bold and geometric, and the architecture is drawn in stark silhouette.

Paper and print details

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
