A silver jet aircraft banks gracefully around Earth alongside an orbiting satellite, their white trajectories traced against a deep blue starfield scattered with stars. The bold red text 'VISITEZ L'URSS' stretches across the Soviet Union highlighted on the globe below.
Commissioned by Intourist, the Soviet state travel agency, and designed by A. Traut in 1958. This poster depicts the moment when space exploration and international tourism converged in Soviet promotional design, just one year after Sputnik's launch transformed the world's perception of Soviet technological capability.
The composition embodies mid-century space-age aesthetics: clean geometric forms, atomic-era optimism, and the promise that jet travel and space technology would make distant places accessible. Part of Intourist's sophisticated campaign to attract French visitors to the USSR during the height of the Space Race.
Reproduced as an archival print on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Fine Art Paper using pigment-based inks for museum-quality permanence.
