The soldier is shouting, the sky is red, and a Sherman tank is wading through dark water behind him.

Hewitt designed the poster for the United States Treasury War Finance Division. It is recorded in the US Government Monthly Catalog of February 1944 (SuDoc T 66.8:F 46). The "OFFICIAL U.S. TREASURY POSTER" imprint marks it as a Treasury issue, and the Government Printing Office printed it.

On the poster

A helmeted US infantryman shouts from the right foreground, his face painted in close detail against a cadmium-red sky. Behind him a Sherman tank and a file of soldiers push through dark water with rifles raised, lit by a yellow explosion left of centre. The lower part of the sheet is deep purple-blue and carries three tiers of type: cursive white script, bold white sans-serif, and yellow capitals reading "MORE WAR BONDS THAN EVER?"

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
