The hand is almost there. The sailor's cap is just out of reach. Albert Dorne (1904 to 1965) drew this in 1942 for the US Office of Facts and Figures, the wartime federal agency that coordinated home-front communication until the Office of War Information absorbed it later that year. The poster belonged to the wartime careless-talk campaign.

On the poster

A grey hand breaks the surface of churning cobalt waves, fingers splayed, reaching toward a white US Navy sailor's cap that drifts just beyond it. The ground is cream and the ocean blue-teal. "SOMEBODY BLABBED" runs in bold condensed black above and "BUTTON YOUR LIP!" below. A torn-cartouche overlay mid-picture reads "...don't talk about ship movements! / ...don't talk about war production!"

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
