A Pierrot in flowing red, white-gloved and white-faced, leans back in an acrobatic arc, a wooden tennis racquet trailing behind. Directly above, a large green parrot swoops across the black ground clutching an amber bottle of Sauvion's Brandy, tipping it toward the Pierrot's open mouth. The composition is built on three stark colour contrasts against the black ground: cadmium red, parrot green, amber gold. Bold serif lettering in amber yellow runs across the base. No secondary elements, no background illustration, no narrative clutter. The figure and the bird do all the work.

Designed by Joseph Stall (1874–1933) and printed by Joseph Charles, Paris, in 1925. Stall worked in the tradition established by Leonetto Cappiello, using the black-ground isolated-figure format that transformed French commercial lithography from the 1900s onward. The Sauvion poster is one of Stall's best-documented works and appears consistently in European and American specialist poster auctions. The Pierrot and parrot combination links the poster to a playful strand of inter-war drinks advertising in which wit and absurdity stood in for straightforward product claims.

This is an archival print reproduced from a high-quality restored source scan of the 1925 lithograph. Printed using the giclée process on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Fine Art Paper.

The high-contrast black ground and saturated palette make this a strong choice for wall spaces that need visual weight. The subject, a drinks brand rooted in 1920s French advertising, also speaks to anyone drawn to Art Deco graphic design or the decorative history of the apéritif culture.
