Otard Dupuy Cognac 1910

The cognac is at the bottom of the sea, and the diver cannot drink it. Designer unknown. Otard Dupuy & Co. was founded in 1795 by Jean-Baptiste Antoine Otard together with the brothers Jean and Léon Dupuy. The lithograph was printed in Paris by Imprimerie Champenois.

The Spanish text marks it as an edition made for a Spanish-speaking market.

On the poster

A helmeted deep-sea diver stands on a dark seabed, one arm raised to present a bottle of Otard Dupuy cognac. Branded wooden crates and a barrel dated 1880 lie scattered around him. The caption at his right reads "Que Lastima no puedo beberlo" [What a pity I cannot drink it]. The palette is burnt orange and gold lettering on a deep green-khaki ground, with the diver's suit in salmon and ochre.

Paper and print details

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
