She rides side-saddle behind him in a full vermilion dress, on the back of a motorcycle. Plinio Codognato (1878 to 1940) designed the poster around 1908 for the German manufacturer Neckarsulmer Fahrradwerke. His advertising clients included Fiat, Pirelli and Atala. The printer was D. Coen & C. of Milan and Paris, and its imprint "D. COEN & C. MILANO-PARIGI" appears on the sheet.
On the poster
A male rider in black leather and goggles leans forward over an NSU motorcycle, his scarf lifting in the slipstream. An alpine peak rises in a rose-lilac sky, and at upper left a red NSU motor car rushes the other way. A large forest-green NSU logotype anchors the lower part of the sheet, with "NECKARSULMER FAHRRADWERKE" below it and the printer credited at the foot.
