Valencia vs Barcelona 1932

1932

The match was on 17 January 1932 at Mestalla, and two players are in the air for the same ball. The poster was made for a Primera División game at Valencia's Mestalla Stadium, which had opened in 1923 as the club's home ground. Designer unknown.

On the poster

Two players leap for the ball against a bold orange background. One stretches upward in a green jersey. The other, in purple and red, contests the aerial duel. The letterforms are geometric and the figures streamlined, in an Art Deco style.

Our restoration process

History has wrinkles. We have standards.

A century or two can be unkind to a poster. Folds, tears, stains, fading and the occasional indignity of terrible storage.

Each print begins with historic artwork, carefully restored using the latest digital tools and restoration techniques. Damage is addressed, colours refined and details recovered, while respecting the original composition, lettering and character.

The result? All the charm of the original, without having to live with its unfortunate accidents.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
