Two dancers hold up grapes and tobacco leaves, with a bottle of Mercurey Kina on a café table between them. Paul Mohr made the poster, which advertises Mercurey Kina, a wine-based aperitif tied to Mercurey in Burgundy. It was drunk neat or with water. The poster was lithographed by Affiches EDIA, Paris, and is signed in the plate at lower right.

On the poster

Two dancing figures fill the sheet against an undivided black ground. One, in pale blue and yellow, raises a bunch of deep red grapes. The other, entirely in orange, lifts a sheaf of tobacco leaves. Between them on a round café table stands the amber Mercurey Kina bottle with an inverted black funnel in its neck, and a stemmed glass of dark red aperitif on either side. The lettering below runs in three weights: green for the lead-in, bold yellow for the brand name and white italic for the tagline.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
