The performer appears twice on this sheet. One figure turns in white trousers, and a dark second figure crouches behind and below him, as if two moments of the same performance had been printed over each other. Georges Pomiès was a Paris music-hall performer: mime, dancer, singer and cinema actor. He appeared at the Olympia and the Théâtre de l'Empire, worked with Jean Renoir and Jacques Prévert, and collaborated with the Groupe Octobre. M. Faniellos illustrated the poster, and F. Bouchet & Lakara of Paris printed it in 1928.
On the poster
A lean male figure in white wide-legged trousers and a dark jacket is caught mid-turn, arms flung wide, a bold green diagonal stroke running across his torso from shoulder to hip. Behind and below him a second, shadowed figure crouches in deep brown-black. The ground is cream, and oversized slab letters at the base spell "POMIÈS" in varying scales.
