She is riding through the night with a brass lantern held out at arm's length. Jean de Paleologue (1855 to 1942), a Romanian-born illustrator working in Paris who signed his work PAL, designed the poster around 1894. The sheet names Fernand Clément & Cie and gives a Levallois-Perret address.

On the poster

A woman in a full-length salmon-pink dress rides a Fernand Clément bicycle across a deep cobalt night sky, her right arm extended to carry a glowing brass lantern. A yellow crescent moon fills the upper right and white stars are scattered across the background. Flowing cream cursive at the top spells "Fernand Clément & Cie", and black serif text below gives the factory address, 130, rue du Bois, Levallois-Perret.

PAL's brush-script signature sits at lower left.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
