A chef dressed head to toe in yellow rides a galloping pig, and he is carrying the shop with him. Henri Le Monnier (1893 to 1978) designed the poster in 1925 for Alhambra, a charcuterie and preserves brand. He worked as a poster artist for the Paris printer Lutecia from 1923 to 1932.

This sheet is signed and dated 1925 at lower right.

On the poster

A yellow-clad chef rides a galloping pig across a navy ground, one hand raised with a silver platter of ham and sausage, the other cradling a tower of Alhambra preserve tins. The pig is warm salmon pink, and the chef is unbroken cadmium yellow from toque to breeches. Bold lime-green outlined type names the products below: "Jambons. Saucissons. Salaisons. Conserves." (Hams. Sausages. Cured meats. Preserves.)

Paper and print details

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
