Tower Bridge in blue, the Arc de Triomphe in green, the Parthenon in orange: Europe as patches of paint on black, with a Constellation flying through them. Edmond Maurus (1906 to 1960) designed it in 1948 for Air France. Air France commissioned it for a post-war campaign promoting European destinations. The aircraft is the Lockheed Constellation, which Air France operated between 1947 and 1965.

On the poster

A Constellation passes between vignettes of European landmarks, each drawn as abstract paint regions on a black background. Tower Bridge appears in blue, the Arc de Triomphe sits inside green brushstrokes, and the Parthenon glows in orange.

Each print begins with historic artwork, carefully restored using the latest digital tools and restoration techniques. Damage is addressed, colours refined and details recovered, while respecting the original composition, lettering and character.

The result? All the charm of the original, without having to live with its unfortunate accidents.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
