Strasbourg Cathedral's green spire shows up in the glass of beer. The poster is signed Robys, the name Robert Wolff used for his advertising work. The Brasserie Adelshoffen was based in Schiltigheim, and by 1950 its Pils, Münsterbräu and Select labels were sold across France.

On the poster

A broadly smiling red figure holds a bottle of Pils d'Alsace aloft and raises a foaming goblet against a solid black ground. Through the golden beer, the green spire of Strasbourg Cathedral appears reflected in the glass. The Adelshoffen coat of arms sits at upper left. Below, the brand name is in teal block capitals, with the tagline "la biere fine d'Alsace" (the fine beer of Alsace) in red italic script.

Each print begins with historic artwork, carefully restored using the latest digital tools and restoration techniques. Damage is addressed, colours refined and details recovered, while respecting the original composition, lettering and character.

The result? All the charm of the original, without having to live with its unfortunate accidents.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
