A woman in white hovers on the point of an upright sword, and a red-horned devil with a trident strides in from the left.
Donaldson Litho Co. of Newport, Kentucky, printed the poster for the illusionist Will B. Wood. Wood trained under Harry Kellar and started his own act in 1890 and toured the world, including a South American tour from 1903 to 1906 through Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, which fits the Spanish lettering. A Woodita lithograph was found in his surviving trunk and is described as a fantastic balance. It is separate from his Edna levitation, patented in 1889.
Donaldson's Newport plant printed magic posters as colour stone lithographs.
On the poster
The woman wears white and is bound with gold sashes. The devil comes in from the left, and a magician in black evening dress gestures calmly from the right. Three black cannonball spheres, a gilt cylinder and a teal floral fan fill the foreground. The sky runs from cobalt blue through warm gold to teal green. Red outlined capitals across the top read "WOODITA". Below, in white italic: "GRAN ACTO DE SENSACION" [Great sensation act].
