The diagonal on this sheet runs from furnace-orange to night-blue: heavy industry on one side, a rocket on the other. It is listed here as V. Ivanov, 1965, but neither the designer nor the year has been traced to a museum record. A dealer lists a poster with the same title and subject, a rocket leaving a steel furnace, under Valentin Viktorov.
On the poster
A steel crane bearing the hammer and sickle looms over the white heat of an open-hearth furnace, sparks cascading into the lower frame. To the right the sheet opens into deep navy: a rocket climbs toward a radiant yellow sun ringed by an orbital arc, with stars scattered across the background. The Cyrillic text in the lower-right reads "ВО ИМЯ МИРА И ПРОГРЕССА!" (In the Name of Peace and Progress).
