Pathé-Marconi La Voix de Son Maître 1950s

A single yellow numeral, 3, announces the speeds. Bernard Villemot (1911 to 1989) designed the poster for Pathé-Marconi, the French company created in 1936 in association with EMI. It sold radios, turntables and televisions under the "La Voix de Son Maître" brand, and in 1951 it issued the first 33 and 45 rpm microgroove records made in France.

Villemot trained under Paul Colin between 1932 and 1934. His clients included Air France, Orangina and Perrier.

On the poster

A black vinyl LP sits on a chrome 3 speed turntable, its green "La Voix de Son Maître" label at the centre. Above it, on an unbroken field of cadmium red, a yellow outlined "3" announces the three speeds, flanked by a schematic gramophone horn and the Nipper silhouette in warm brownish-red. At the base, "LA VOIX DE SON MAITRE" is in sage green, with "PATHÉ-MARCONI" in solid black below.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
