Omnium Cycles Paris c.1898

1890s

The woman on the bicycle has the foreground. The open-top motor car is a small shape at the horizon, and a pale figure on a second bicycle fades into the middle distance. The Manufacture des Cycles Omnium was founded in 1890 at Charenton, in the Paris suburbs.

The designer is unknown.

On the poster

A red-haired woman in a burnt-orange dress rides through a green French park, one arm extended forward, a long grey sash streaming behind her. A ghostly white-clad cyclist recedes behind her, and an early open-top automobile follows the road at the horizon. Broad Art Nouveau lettering reads "Omnium Cycles & Automobiles, Paris."

Each print begins with historic artwork, carefully restored using the latest digital tools and restoration techniques. Damage is addressed, colours refined and details recovered, while respecting the original composition, lettering and character.

The result? All the charm of the original, without having to live with its unfortunate accidents.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
