The toddler in the wash-basin is holding a soap shaped like a lemon. Beatrice Mallet (1896 to 1951) was an English illustrator working in Paris. She worked for Galeries Lafayette, Petit Bateau and Lion Noir shoe polish, among others. Salomon soaps were among her poster clients.

On the poster

A round-cheeked toddler stands in a white wash-basin holding a lemon-shaped yellow soap bar. To the right, an open product box shows six individually wrapped bars of Citron Salomon lemon juice soap. The ground is a saturated cobalt-blue. "CITRON SALOMON" runs across the top in large cream slab-serif type, and the claim "BLANCHIT, ADOUCIT, RAFRAICHIT" [Whitens, softens, refreshes] sits in the middle of the sheet.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
