A giant optician in white lowers a pair of round black spectacles onto a seated client, who is seen only from behind. Leonetto Cappiello (1875 to 1942) produced the poster for Les Freres Lissac around 1931, the year Georges Lissac set up the company Frères Lissac with his brothers Marcel and André.

On the poster

The optician stands with his arms spread wide, dwarfing the dark-suited client. Energetic diagonal brushstrokes in cobalt and ultramarine blue fill the sheet to its edges. "LES FRERES LISSAC" runs across the base in bold yellow sans-serif capitals.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
