The Army offered free music lessons, and this 1950s poster says where: the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall. The British War Office commissioned it to recruit men and boys with musical ambitions to the Regular Army. The training covered woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Patten is the credited artist. The Royal Military School of Music was established at Kneller Hall in 1857.

On the poster

Two soldiers in navy uniforms with coral trim show what the Regular Army offered musicians. One plays the bassoon while the other conducts, and musical notes flow across a turquoise background.
