A cherubic baby gazes upward against a navy blue background, Canada's outline mapped in muted tones behind. The cream script of 'Invest and Protect' curves above, while 'Help Finish the Job' commands in bold orange below.
Designed by Franklin Arbuckle for the Canadian government's Victory Bond campaign, 1943-1945. This poster marked a shift from fear-based wartime messaging to hope-centred appeals, using childhood innocence to encourage financial support for the war effort.
The composition deliberately echoes the Gerber Baby trademark, speaking to protective instincts that drove parents to secure their children's future through bond purchases. Nine Victory Loan campaigns raised over $12 billion for Canada's war effort.
A natural fit for those drawn to wartime propaganda design, Canadian military history, or mid-century illustration craftsmanship. Printed as an archival gicle on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.
