A kolkhoz worker in a striped blue and red shirt displays the abundant harvest of Soviet agriculture. Her wicker basket overflows with vegetables and fruits: watermelon, pumpkin, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant and mushrooms, flanked by golden wheat sheaves.
Commissioned for the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in the 1950s during the post-war reconstruction period when Soviet authorities promoted collective farming achievements. The bold Cyrillic text declares "Kolkhoz workers, fight for the right to participate in the agricultural exhibition!" and "Accept the harvest!"
Rendered in the confident socialist realist style with saturated primary colours and optimistic imagery that characterised Soviet visual propaganda of the era. Part of the extensive campaign to showcase agricultural productivity during Stalin's later years.
Reproduced as an archival print on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Fine Art Paper using museum-quality pigment inks.
