Formation aircraft soar across a brilliant blue sky in Paul Colin's bold 1946 aviation exhibition poster. The composition centres on a large aircraft with distinctive yellow and blue fuselage markings, flanked by smaller fighter planes rendered in Colin's confident Art Deco style.

Designed for the 17th International Aviation Exhibition held at the Grand Palais in Paris from November 15 to December 1, 1946. The exhibition marked a significant moment in post-war aviation, showcasing the latest aircraft designs as France rebuilt its aerospace industry after the war.

Colin applies his theatre poster sensibilities to aviation subject matter, creating bold geometric forms and saturated colour palette that depicts the technological optimism of the era. The strong vertical composition and condensed sans-serif typography exemplify French modernist poster design.

Reproduced as an archival print on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Fine Art Paper using museum-quality pigment inks.
