A monumental American bald eagle towers above a formation of WWI fighter aircraft in this commanding 1918 propaganda poster. The eagle's piercing gaze and spread wings dominate the composition while military planes navigate through the blue sky below.

Charles Livingston Bull designed this poster for the US Treasury Department's War Savings Stamps campaign in 1918. Bull, renowned for his wildlife expertise gained through years as a taxidermist, brought anatomical precision to the eagle's rendering. The campaign encouraged Americans to purchase thrift stamps during the gaps between Liberty Bond drives, directing civilian savings toward the war effort.

This design became one of the most recognizable images of American WWI propaganda. Bull's composition transforms the national bird into a guardian of the home front, watching over the aerial forces defending freedom. The bold red typography against cream background creates visual urgency while the naturalistic eagle establishes American superiority.

Reproduced as an archival print on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Fine Art Paper, depicting the original lithograph's stark contrasts and patriotic symbolism for modern collections of wartime graphic design.
