A golden lion stands on coastal cliffs, and above it in red is the word RELIABILITY. Edgar Ainsworth (1905 to 1975) made the poster for Imperial Airways in 1934. Ainsworth uses the lion as Britain's heraldic symbol. The airline's routes linked London to Cairo, India and Australia.

On the poster

The lion's golden coat stands out against a teal horizon, and blue water stretches away behind it. Bold red lettering reads "RELIABILITY" in sans-serif capitals.

Paper and print details

Good art deserves good paper.

Each poster is printed to order using professional giclée printing techniques and archival pigment inks on 200gsm enhanced matte fine art paper.

The natural white, smooth matte finish reduces glare while bringing out rich colours and crisp detail. The inks are designed for excellent lightfastness, helping the artwork retain its colour for years to come.
