A People's Liberation Army soldier grips an artillery shell, his gaze fixed skyward with unwavering determination. The olive green uniform bears the red collar tabs of the PLA, while the substantial anti-aircraft round speaks to China's military preparedness during the early Cold War.

Commissioned for military recruitment and morale, circa 1953, this poster emerged during the Korean War period when China's air defence capabilities were paramount. The bold red characters below convey the uncompromising message directed at foreign aircraft violating Chinese airspace.

The composition exemplifies Socialist Realism's heroic soldier archetype, the individual becomes symbol of national strength. The realistic rendering and saturated palette were hallmarks of Chinese military propaganda designed to inspire both troops and civilians.

Reproduced as an archival print from a restored 1950s source.
